In this Commentary by Larry Mendte, we turn our attention to the not-so-successful idea of defunding police, zero bail initiatives, and going soft on fighting crime in general that has plagued many American cities big and small. Those organized “smash and grab” robberies caught on store video cameras have not helped quell what some politicians feel is a mirage of rising crime stats in their own cities, or someone else’s fault, as Larry explains.
