You’d like to think that once Donald Trump left the White House, outlandish stories, mistakes, missteps, and unintended statements would have subsided.  Anything not to call what comes from the President of the United States a lie.  As Larry Mendte shows in this Commentary, stretching the truth, or whatever name you’d like to give “lying” is a ritual that is as old as the cherry blossoms around D.C.
