The sit-in at the Dockum drug store in Wichita, Kansas in 19-58 was a key moment in the civil rights movement and the effort to end segregation. It was among the first lunch counter sit-ins aimed at integrating segregated businesses. More than six decades later, the granddaughter of the Dockum drug store’s owner has engaged in a dialogue with some of the heroes from the sit-in.
