And when she decided to attend college, it was Southern Oregon University that opened the doors for her.
When she applied to the honors college program at southern oregon university. And it was her application that stood out. It talked of a Native Film Festival at her high school where a man said racist things toward the native peoples in the room.
But it was a recent event that shook the native communities in North America. Over 2000 remains of native children found in mass graves on the grounds of residential schools in Canada. On campus, she and members of the Native American Student Union put together a healing project, to honor the fallen.
