Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager was as a man who was known to have the right stuff. Who broke barriers. Particularly the sound barrier. And on October 14th, 1947, aboard a test plane called the X-1, he did just that.
He would later break Mach 2.5 as the test pilot of the X-1A, something Bell Aircraft couldn’t do with their own pilots.
A man’s man, a pilot’s pilot, Chuck Yeager once shot down five German fighter planes in one day securing his legend with generations of Top Guns to come.
