On This Day In Music, Susan Dey was born in 1952.  She was many a teenaged boy’s crush as “Laurie Partridge” of “The Partridge Family.”

We lost Otis Redding and his band in 1967 on this day.  A plane crash in Wisconsin.  Otis was 26 years old.

We move to 1983.  Sir Paul and MJ start a 6-week run at Number One.

Now it’s 2007. Led Zeppelin re-assembles, and plays their first concert in 19 years.  It’s at London’s O2 Arena a tribute for Ahmet Ertegun, the music industry legend who had died the year before.

Jason Bonham plays drums in his father’s seat, the first time the band is playing live since John Bonham’s death in 1980.
