On This Day In Music, Donnie Osmond was born in 1957.

We jump to 1989.

Billy Joel starts a 2-week run at Number One with “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”  Probably the closest Billy Joel ever came to rap.

And now it’s 1992.  at the Billboard Music Awards, George Harrison is the first recipient of the Century Award, presented to him by his good buddy, Tom Petty.

One more birthday…  this one back to 1972.  Frank Wright III is born… he’ll go on to play the drums for Green Day.

They’ve sold 75 million records world wide.
