On This Day in Music: July 5th the Independence Day party continued.

Hootie & The Blowfish stormed onto the scene with the debut studio album Cracked Rear View.

Selling over 21 million albums, it cracks the top 20 best selling albums of all time.

Johnny Cash performed his final live show at the Carter Family Fold in Virgina back in 2003.

The 30 minute set featured some all-time Cash hits.

His wife passed away months before the performance, and sadly, Johnny would leave us two months later in September.

Lastly in 2015, Damon Albarn and the supergroup Africa Express were performing in Denmark through the night. It was a concert that started on the 4th of July, but the Encore lasted five hours and Albarn had to be carried off stage.
